Marrakech-Menara Airport (RAK) sits 6 km southwest of the city. The drive into the Medina takes 15-20 minutes. Outside the old walls, traffic flows well — wide boulevards in Gueliz, Hivernage, and the Palmeraie.
Inside the Medina walls, cars don't go far — narrow alleys are for foot traffic and motorbikes. Park outside one of the official parking lots near Bab Doukkala or Bab Robb (around 30 dirhams per day) and walk in.
Day trips from Marrakech are the real magic. Atlas Mountains via the S501 (1 hour to Imlil). Ouzoud Falls 2.5 hours northeast. Essaouira 2.5 hours west. Ouarzazate over the Tizi N'Tichka pass — 4 hours, but spectacular.
Local tip
Buy a Maroc Telecom or Inwi SIM card on arrival (50 dirhams). Google Maps works flawlessly across Morocco — you'll need it for navigating the medina exits and Atlas drives.

Yes — we deliver to any riad in the Medina at no extra cost. We'll meet you at the closest accessible street point (riads are usually inside pedestrian alleys), help with luggage, and complete the paperwork on the spot. Just send us the riad name and address when booking.
Is it safe to drive in Marrakech?
Outside the Medina walls, yes — wide boulevards, clear signage, normal traffic. Inside the Medina, cars don't go. Most travelers park near the city walls and walk in. We'll point you to the safest parking lots when you arrive.
Can I drive from Marrakech to the Sahara?
Yes — the classic 2-3 day Marrakech-Ouarzazate-Merzouga loop is one of Morocco's best road trips. Our Hyundai Accent or Dacia Logan handles it perfectly. Plan 8 hours each way, with overnight stops. We'll suggest the route when you book.
Can I drop the car at Marrakech airport (MRX)?
Absolutely — same price, same service. Free drop-off at Marrakech-Menara airport at any hour. Just tell us your flight time when booking and we'll arrange the meeting point.
What about the Atlas Mountains — can your cars handle it?
Yes for paved roads — Imlil, Ouirgane, Ouzoud Falls, Tizi N'Tichka pass — all our cars handle these. For deep off-road like Telouet's old kasbahs or remote Berber villages, ask us about our 4x4 options.
